In college, Dave proudly served two semesters as a varsity-level hall monitor and ultimately led his university’s tic-tac-toe team to the world finals before being defeated by a team from Iceland in overtime. Before his university studies, Dave was an airborne paratrooper in the United States Army. “Airborne landings are pretty rough. I used to be six-foot-four before I began jumping out of airplanes…now I’m only five-foot-nine,” recalls Dave of his parachuting experiences. Dave, according to his passport, has traveled to over 14 different countries in the Americas; in the summer of 2000, Dave and a friend went on a four-month backpack trip through South America. One of Dave’s life-long dreams is to be shot out of a cannon. “When I die,” says Dave, “I would love to have my ashes compressed into a diamond, and, hopefully, have myself inserted into one of the front teeth of a well-respected rap artist.
