Did you ever wonder why Obama is such a good speaker? Well, it’s because he reads everything – I mean, everything – off of his teleprompter (here). So, is he a good orator or a good reader? It seems that everything he says falls short of the mark if he says it without any help. In thinking about this, I was reminded of a good Mark Twain quote, “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” Now, I can’t say if he’s using the teleprompters because he’s lying to America (on the campaign trail, he obviously told us what he was going to do…and now he’s doing it), but I do see a direct correlation between needing a teleprompter and not being genuine.
The liberals gave Bush a difficult time because he dared to speak “off the cuff.” Well, I tell you, my lone reader, that I would prefer a man who can speak his mind on a moment’s notice, who may not get everything right, to a man that can seemingly get everything right, but who cannot speak a word without it having been run through a filter. One is genuine and authentic and one is purely a puppet of whoever is writing and editing his every word.
