Well, it was bound to happen: Switzerland had to pass a law banning German tourists from hiking naked through its country (read it here). Apparently, Germans began showing up in Switzerland a year ago, wearing nothing but hiking boots, socks and a lot of unnatural self-confidence. According to the article that I am plagarizing from, Germans seem to have a movement called “Free Body Culture,” which leads them to believe that it’s okay to walk around butt naked in other people’s countries. I’m glad that Switzerland came out of the neautral corner on this and stood up for decency. Now, if Switzerland can keep its momentum and pass a law requiring French tourists to take baths, I might even consider visiting the old country.
