To Honor or to Spread Propoganda?

I wonder why the new administration decided to lift the ban on news coverage of military coffins arriving home (here).  My guess is that the liberals in the new administration and the media want to use the pictures as propaganda to further their own aims of reversing US military policy.  Is the lifting of the ban merely intended to be a means for the public to honor and mourn brave Americans or is it going to be used as a heartless tool by the media to sway public opinion and cause Americans to lose their resolve?

Earmarks

The administration is making good on its promises of no earmarks or pork: there are only 8,570 earmarks worth $7.7 billion.  Thanks BHO!

The Rights of a Child

Filed under: Politics — dangrdave @ 12:58 am

So, I read today where senator Barbara Boxer, who is obviously a socialist, wants Obama & Co. to review and ratify the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child (here).  From the article:

“Critics say the treaty, which creates “the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion” and outlaws the “arbitrary or unlawful interference with his or her privacy,” intrudes on the family and strips parents of the power to raise their children without government interference.”

Mrs. Boxer wants the U.S. to ratify this treaty – which, if ratified, would become THE law of the land in all 50 states due to the Supremacy Clause – because she wants the U.S. to take the lead on government encroachment into families.  I believe that children in America have pretty decent rights, compared to just about any other country on our planet.  American families do not need the Government telling them that they cannot discipline their own children; they do not need a bureaucrat telling them that it is a crime against a child’s conscience to make them eat their broccoli.  Children need to learn discipline and they need parental authority, whether they like it or not.  If the family is going to church, the child, as part of the family, should not have a U.N.-mandated right to be excused, especially when religion, if done correctly, teaches children to be good citizens and responsible human beings.

In my opinion, Mrs. Boxer is a socialist who thinks that she and others should be raising America’s children instead of parents…and that upsets me.  What about the rights of parents and the rights of families?

Thy Kingdom Come?

My friend, Trint, had a great posting (here) about the media’s portrayal of Obama as our national savior.  Trint showed a photo of Obama with a nimbus-like presidential seal halo surrounding his head.  This caused me to pay a bit more attention and, wouldn’t you know it, I found my own Obama-Diety photograph, courtesy of the associated press:

You too can find your own Obama deity picture to print and display wherever you choose: your school locker, your car dashboard, or glued to the cover of your Bible.  The blessings are unlimited!  Here’s another picture that you may appreciate:

I ask all of my fans (all one of them) to be on the lookout for other great deity photos of our president; please feel free to post a link to the picture on the comment section.  In this time of crisis, we all need a little extra faith and something that we can believe in; please help others to have faith by pointing them toward more “holy” pictures of Obama!

Super Bonus Good Stuff: A recent Harris poll shows that Obama is now more of a hero to Americans than Jesus (here)!
